About
Rachel De Angelis
Since a very young age, I have loved being in the entertainment industry, putting on holiday performances for my whole family, and caroling in my community. Starting modeling at ten years old, I began my love for being in the public eye, modeling for Target, Macy’s, and Zulily. I walked in LA Fashion Week, Metropolitan Fashion Week, World of Prom, and WSU AMDT modeling. When going over to my grandparent’s house growing up, my grandpa told me he could see me as the next weather girl when we watched the news. When I used to host Miss California United States, the audience told me I would be a great host one day. I didn’t believe anyone until I entered college at 16 years old. After my second year at Washington State University, I realized I have a talent for public speaking and being on camera.
After the COVID-19 shutdown, I returned to WSU to pursue a degree in Broadcast News with a minor in Sports Management. Once I became a director for my show, which was part of the Cable 8 Productions show called The Red Tape, I knew I had wanted to work in the entertainment industry for a long time. Not only did I direct my show, but I rebranded it to bring in twice the number of views on YouTube for that show that semester, being the youngest director that Cable 8 Production has ever had. Once I stepped into the studio, I was like “a kid in a candy store” and called it my second home. I have worked countless hours in the studio, the executive office, the lounge, and the editing bays. After being part of Cable 8 for one semester, I was accepted as an Executive Board member as the Human Resources Director. This is where I learned the ins and outs of the production company. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. As a future Murrow College Alum, I have not only been able to work for Cable 8 but also as an anchor/reporter for Murrow News 8 and have done job shadowing at places like FOX 12 in Portland, Oregon.
